Over the last few years there has been an explosion of new bands paying homage to the killer sounds that emerged in the late ’70s early ’80s dubbed Post-Punk. On this edition of 1/2/3/4 we are championing a fine crop of DIY musicians. I’m encouraging you to support the excellent Tracy McNeil and The Good Life in their Pozible campaign to release their album ‘Ýou Be The Lightning’, we have a special session track to celebrate the cause. Rose Hotel from Atlanta, Georgia has released a dreamy fuzzy country pop gem that I’ve been listening to over and over. Sebastian Field from Canberra conjures up etheriel atmospheric pop on his solo debut, Picture Stone. Sydney’s Justine Wahlin returns with her finest collection of songs yet and Adelaide’s Oh Deliah writes beautiful sweet indie-pop for the lonely and the heartbroken, the lost and the hopeful. This episode is dedicated to memory of a truly inspirational broadcaster, Chris Winter.

We might have hit the cooler part of the year but Bonniesongs latest track Ice Cream hits the spot! Described as “dreamy experimental indie folk” and compared to artists such as Bjork and Joanna Newsom, Bonniesongs is creating a unique sound in the Sydney songwriting scene. This new track signals her more ‘rock’ collection of songs after her gorgeous chamber folk release from last year. Her album Energetic Mind will be out in September. It’s just one of the highlights on this edition of 1/2/3/4.

For over a decade, he has been producing his sublime music, ranging from atmospheric ambient to experimental folk.
