1/2/3/4 — #96 — Arise, Sleeper!

Sleeper enjoyed huge critical and commercial success in the mid 90s as a part of the Britpop era and return after 21 years with a cracking new album The Modern Age. Plus the Soul Movers are back with a punchy collection of new songs, uptempo rootsy pop from Rach Brennan and The Pines and storyteller/larrikin Wire Bluthe.

Brighton, UK-based collective Moulettes, create a hard to pigeon hole sound that embraces prog, pop, alt-folk and rock and are visiting Australia for the first time performing at Port Fairy Folk Festival, Blue Mountains Music Festival and a series of shows in between. They joined me in Melbourne for a chat and performance. If you get the chance, don’t miss this stunning ensemble in action.
